Northern Utah Volleyball Teams Learn State Tournament Seedings

The Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) released the brackets for the upcoming girls' volleyball state tournaments Saturday, determining seedings for Northern Utah teams in the 6A, 5A, 4A, and 3A classifications. All tournament matches are scheduled to take place at Utah Valley University.

Northern Utah boasts four region champions who secured favorable playoff positions. Region 12 champion Morgan High School, with a 21-5 record, received the No. 2 seed in the 3A tournament. Syracuse High School (17-6), the Region 1 champion, earned the No. 3 seed in the 6A bracket. In Region 5, co-champions West Field (23-5) and Fremont (19-8) were seeded No. 5 and No. 8, respectively, for the 5A tournament. The UHSAA has trimmed playoff fields across all classifications to 16 teams, which means several area 5A teams did not qualify.

Tournament play will feature first-round and quarterfinal matches on one day, with semifinals and the championship final held on the following day for each classification.

**6A Tournament Schedule**

The 6A tournament for Northern Utah teams kicks off at 9 a.m. with No. 13 Layton High School facing No. 4 Lone Peak. Later, at 10:30 a.m., No. 3 Syracuse will compete against No. 14 Westlake, and No. 7 Weber High School will take on No. 10 Lehi. Quarterfinal matches for the 9 a.m. winners are set for noon, while winners from the 10:30 a.m. games will play their quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m. The 6A semifinals are scheduled for 10 a.m., leading to the championship final at 4 p.m.

**5A Tournament Schedule**

Northern Utah teams in the 5A classification begin their tournament at 3:30 p.m. No. 5 West Field High School will challenge No. 12 Salem Hills, No. 8 Fremont will play No. 9 Hunter, and No. 16 Box Elder High School will face No. 1 Woods Cross. Quarterfinal matches for these 3:30 p.m. winners are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The 5A semifinals are set for 11:45 a.m., with the championship final at 6:30 p.m. Notably, No. 19 Clearfield, No. 24 Northridge, No. 26 Roy, and No. 28 Bonneville did not make the final 16-team field.

**4A Tournament Schedule**

In the 4A tournament, Northern Utah's No. 11 Bear River High School is slated to play No. 6 Cedar at 10:30 a.m. The semifinals for 4A are scheduled for 10:15 a.m., and the championship final will be held at 4:30 p.m.

**3A Tournament Schedule**

The 3A tournament will see multiple Northern Utah teams competing. At 3:30 p.m., No. 16 Ben Lomond High School will play No. 1 North Sanpete. Following this, at 5 p.m., No. 2 Morgan High School will challenge No. 15 Manti. Also at 5 p.m., No. 7 Ogden High School will compete against No. 10 Carbon, and No. 6 Layton Christian will face No. 11 Grantsville. Quarterfinals for the 3:30 p.m. winners are scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and winners from the 5 p.m. games will play their quarterfinals at 8 p.m. The 3A semifinals are set for 11:45 a.m., with the championship final scheduled for 7 p.m.
