An Ogden motorcyclist was critically injured Friday evening after a vehicle pulled out of a parking lot into the rider’s path on Washington Boulevard. The severe collision occurred on October 16, 2026, near the address of 3161 Washington Blvd., as confirmed by Ogden Police.
Officers from the Ogden Police Department were promptly dispatched to the scene of the accident. Police received notification of the incident when dispatchers were alerted at 6:53 p.m. The location of the crash is identifiable as being in front of, or in close proximity to, a Dollar General retail store. The vehicle involved in the crash had been exiting the parking lot belonging to this establishment.
Ogden Police Lt. Kuies provided details regarding the sequence of events leading up to the crash. According to Lt. Kuies, the vehicle was in the process of pulling out from the Dollar General parking lot. This vehicle was attempting to merge onto Washington Boulevard with the intention of traveling south. At the same time, a motorcycle was also proceeding south on Washington Boulevard.
As the vehicle moved from the parking lot onto the main roadway, it entered directly into the path of the oncoming southbound motorcycle. Lt. Kuies stated that the motorcyclist was subsequently "not able to stop in time" to avoid impact. The motorcycle then collided with the vehicle that had pulled out in front of it.
Following the impactful collision, the rider of the motorcycle sustained critical injuries. Emergency personnel transported the injured motorcyclist to a local area hospital for urgent medical attention. Lt. Kuies reported that the motorcyclist's condition is currently critical. He also indicated that, as of the time of the police report, no further updates on the rider's medical status had been received for a period of time.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident remained at the scene following the incident. Ogden Police Lt. Kuies confirmed that investigators found no suspected impairment concerning the driver of that vehicle. The Ogden Police Department is continuing its work to gather all relevant information and understand the full circumstances of this serious incident on a significant city thoroughfare.
