A Heber City man was arrested and faces multiple charges related to child sex crimes, following an investigation that originated in the United Kingdom and spanned over a year. Garrett Blaine Harmon, 29, was booked into the Utah County Jail on Friday. He faces ten counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to arresting documents filed by the Utah County Sheriff's Office. This arrest impacts local communities, particularly given Harmon's identified employment within the Park City School District.
The extensive investigation began in June 2025 in the United Kingdom. It centered on Child Sex Abuse Materials, and during the course of the probe, a phone belonging to a suspect in the U.K. was found to contain encrypted instant messages. These digital communications were subsequently traced back to Harmon, linking him to the international inquiry.
Arresting documents from the Utah County Sheriff's Office detail the nature of these messages. They allegedly contained conversations between the U.K. suspect and Harmon, indicating shared sexual interests in children. A specific message, dated January 2025, reportedly includes a statement from Harmon where he allegedly admitted to inappropriately touching "several boys" during a camping trip.
The identification of Harmon was a result of collaborative investigative work. The chat logs also contained a number of photos purportedly of Harmon.
